WALON WIN NEW COMMERCIAL VEHICLE ENHANCEMENT CONTRACT WITH GM FOR BT FLEET

Walon UK has won a new £multi-million contract with General Motors (GM) for the preparation and enhancement of over 5,500 Vauxhall Combo and Corsa vans a year for BT Fleet.
The new contract is being run from Walon’s dedicated commercial vehicle enhancement centre in Portbury, Bristol. Walon is responsible for the entire process for the new vehicles from PDI, valet and registration through to a high level of enhancement to a seven build specification including the addition of internal and roof racking, bulkhead fitment, beacon fitment, security equipment and internal power supply.
Walon’s specialist team provide between three and 13 hours work on each vehicle depending on its fitment package, which includes the application of one of five different decals such as the ‘openreach’ logo and branding.
In addition, Walon also manages the storage and handling and onward distribution of the vans to BT Fleet’s depots throughout the UK and Northern Ireland.
Walon’s Technical Services Director Steve Berry said, “We are delighted to have secured this key contract with GM for the BT Fleet vans. Our new dedicated commercial vehicle enhancement centre in Portbury enables us to offer a highly tailored and efficient service for our commercial vehicle customers. This is a growing market for us and due to our extensive resources in both technical and distribution services we are able to offer a complete service from the initial PDI through to final delivery.”
